From Olympia to Giga: Six decades of transformation

Intelligenz System Transfer was founded in 1964 as a federation of independent graduate psychologists. Today, around 30 psychologists as well as business economists and mathematicians work across 10 German and European institutes. They develop and guide corporate initiatives for clients in business, trade, politics, and public administration. The institutes collaborate by sharing expertise and know-how, while remaining economically and legally independent. Every project is backed by more than 60 years of experience, and the methodological repertoire is freely available within the network.
“The idea excited us from the very beginning: I.S.T. colleagues have been sharing their know-how since 1964.”

The Idea Behind the Network

What began as the Institute for Political Science and Communication Research (Poko Institute) was renamed Intelligenz System Transfer in 1974 – a name not nearly as succinct as ‘Poko’. Georg Sieber, as a key figure, inspired generations of practice-oriented young psychologists to build and expand a decentralized, collegial network. We owe him our great gratitude and respect for his life’s work.

As a young police psychologist, he recognized what others overlooked: scenarios of the 1972 Munich Olympics attack.
